Computer Aided Design is more than making pretty picture on a screen. It is a tool for turning ideas into reality. CAD supports modern engineering by enabling precise manufacture, simulating performance through CFD testing, and producing accurate engineering drawings that communicate dimensions, tolerances and assembly intent clearly across teams.

03Computational Fluid Dynamics
Ready to start testing your rocket? Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is one tool that designers and engineers use to analyse their designs prior to manufacture. CFD processes how a fluid flows around an object and displays this visually. DesignClass has an introduction CFD processor that works on your browser and does not require installation.
Download the example rocket, open DesignClass CFD, upload the STEP file and run the test. Then change the nose or fins in CAD and see how the airflow changes.
