Common errors highlighted so you can avoid them.

About this course

The Sweep‑along‑a‑path command lets you create 3D shapes by moving a profile along a sketched path. It is used when a part needs to follow a curve or route — for example, pipes, cables, handles, rails, or any feature that cannot be made with a straight extrude. In Higher CAD, Sweep‑along‑a‑path is essential for modelling components with controlled curves and guided geometry.

In this course, you will learn:
  • How to sketch the profile and the path needed for a sweep.
  • How to make work planes perpendicular to a path.
  • How to create sweep features that follow straight, curved or complex paths.
  • How to use Sweep‑along‑a‑path to add material and Sweep‑subtract to remove material.
  • How to control orientation so the profile stays aligned along the path.
  • How to avoid common mistakes such as broken paths or misaligned profiles.
  • How to use Sweep‑along‑a‑path to model real Higher‑level components.
