Simple explanations of sketches, profiles and constraints.
Common errors highlighted so pupils can avoid them.
About this course
The Extrude command is one of the core modelling tools in 3D CAD. It allows you to turn a 2D sketch into a 3D solid or cut by pushing or pulling the profile in a straight direction. Learn to use Extrude to build the main shapes of a model before adding more advanced features.
In this course, you will learn:
- How to create a fully‑constrained 2D sketch for extrusion.
- How to use Extrude to add material and Extrude subtract to remove material.
- How to choose the correct extrusion direction and distance.
- How to use symmetric, asymmetric and one‑sided extrusions.
- How to spot and avoid common mistakes when extruding.
- How to combine extrudes with other features to build accurate Higher‑level models.
