Common errors highlighted so you can avoid them.
About this course
The Helix command is used to create spiral or helical shapes in 3D CAD. It allows you to form features such as threads, springs, screw forms, bottle tops and any component that follows a circular path while rising or falling. In Higher, you will learn to use the Helix tool to model accurate threaded or spiral features that cannot be made with simple extrudes or revolves.
In this course, you will learn:
- How to sketch the profile needed to create a helix
- How to set the pitch, height and number of turns
- How to create solid helices and helix cuts
- How to model simple threaded or spiral features
- How to control the direction and taper of a helix
- How to avoid common mistakes when profiles or parameters are incorrect
